APPLICATIONS

The 5579176 DEF Filter Kit is intended for compatible Cummins ISB and QSB engine configurations equipped with a suitable Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) and SCR aftertreatment system. Exact fitment depends on the engine model, serial number, and emissions system configuration. Verify compatibility before ordering.

FUNCTION

The 5579176 DEF Filter Kit helps remove contaminants from Diesel Exhaust Fluid before it reaches relevant components of the aftertreatment system. Proper filtration helps support DEF flow, reliable system operation, and the intended performance of the SCR emissions control system.

A worn, clogged, damaged, or failing DEF Filter Kit may cause symptoms such as:

• DEF system warning messages
• SCR or aftertreatment system fault codes
• Restricted DEF flow
• DEF dosing or emissions control performance issues
• Reduced aftertreatment system efficiency
• Engine derating associated with emissions system faults

These symptoms may also result from other DEF or aftertreatment system problems and do not necessarily indicate a faulty filter.

WHY REPLACE A DEF FILTER KIT?

A clogged or damaged DEF filter can interfere with proper fluid filtration and may affect aftertreatment system operation. Replacing it with the correct Genuine OEM Cummins DEF Filter Kit can help maintain proper DEF filtration, support reliable emissions control, and reduce the risk of contamination-related issues.

FITMENT INFORMATION

Before purchasing, verify the Part Number, VIN (where applicable), engine serial number, vehicle or equipment model, engine, and aftertreatment system configuration. Do not assume compatibility based solely on the Cummins ISB or QSB engine family.

If you are unsure whether this part is correct for your vehicle, please contact us with your VIN and original part number. We are happy to help verify compatibility before purchase.
