FUNCTION

The DEF header assembly fits into the DEF tank and supports the tank’s fluid-level and quality sensing functions, depending on the vehicle configuration. Accurate sensor information helps the vehicle’s DEF monitoring and emissions aftertreatment systems operate as intended.

SIGNS OF A FAULTY DEF HEADER

• Incorrect or fluctuating DEF level readings

• DEF level warnings despite an adequate fluid level

• DEF quality or aftertreatment warning messages

• Diagnostic trouble codes related to the DEF tank sensor

• Inconsistent DEF system readings

• Emissions system warnings associated with DEF monitoring

WHY REPLACE THE DEF HEADER?

A faulty or incompatible DEF header may affect DEF monitoring and trigger system warnings. Replacing it with the correct compatible component can help restore proper sensing functions when the header is confirmed to be the cause of the issue.
