APPLICATIONS

Always confirm compatibility using the truck VIN, existing part number, and brake system specifications before purchase.

FUNCTION

The Volvo Air Disc Brake Pad Kit provides the friction material that contacts the brake rotor when the brakes are applied. This friction helps reduce wheel speed and bring the vehicle to a controlled stop.

Replacing worn brake pads helps maintain braking performance and supports the safe operation of heavy-duty trucks.

COMMON SIGNS OF BRAKE PAD FAILURE

Worn or damaged air disc brake pads may cause symptoms such as:

• Reduced braking performance

• Longer stopping distances

• Squealing or unusual braking noises

• Grinding sounds during braking

• Uneven brake pad wear

• Visible wear or damage to the friction material

These symptoms can have other causes, so inspect the complete braking system before replacing parts.

WHY REPLACE THE BRAKE PADS?

Replacing worn brake pads helps restore proper friction at the brake rotor, maintain consistent braking performance, and reduce the risk of further damage to brake components. Use the correct pad kit for the installed caliper and axle configuration.

Before ordering part 23649812, verify the part number, vehicle VIN, axle position, brake caliper type, and existing brake pad specifications. Reference numbers 22120797 and 22120796 appear in some supplier listings, but cross-references alone do not guarantee interchangeability.
