FUNCTION

The DEF tank level sensor monitors the level of Diesel Exhaust Fluid within the tank and provides sensing information to the vehicle's DEF and SCR aftertreatment system. QLS SSI sensing supports monitoring of DEF tank conditions.

A worn, damaged, or failing DEF TANK LEVEL SENSOR may cause symptoms such as:

• Incorrect DEF level readings
• DEF system warning messages
• DEF sensor-related diagnostic fault codes
• SCR system monitoring faults
• Emissions system warnings
• Improper DEF system operation

WHY REPLACE A DEF TANK LEVEL SENSOR?

A properly functioning DEF tank sensor is important for accurate DEF level monitoring and normal SCR aftertreatment system operation. Replacing a faulty or damaged sensor can help restore proper DEF system sensing.
